We have a Windows 2003 Server (Standard Not SB) where the entire
FAX subsystem occasionally decides to lock up. It will run fine for maybe
one day - maybe 3 weeks then all of a sudden decide to lock up and cannot
be recovered without a system reboot. I've seen a few similar posts but
never
any resolutions. Any thoughts folks ?
There at most three users on the system at any given time
The users are signed on via Terminal Server
No users other than these few TS users can access the system
The Modem is a US Robotics 56K USB
When this happens the FAX Monitor stops responding
The FAX Outbox just display the hourglass - no jobs
The FAX service cannot be stopped - it just hangs up
The FAX service runs under NT Auth/System
Event Log Is Clean
A reboot of the system clears this up.
