2003 Cannot access share from computer not on domain

In 2000 Server I could setup a share which users of the network could use (Even if they were not logged onto the domain). However with 2003 I cannot set this up in the same way, I presume its an added security feature. I know this is potentially a security risk, but we need this feature.

I've setup the share, allowed all read/write access to it. Opened the guest account. Still no joy.

Any Ideas ?

PS I can connect if I log on to the client computer as guest (Even if the client isn't a domain member)

The main difference is that the Everyone group has no permissions BY DEFAULT
in 2003. Also, the Anonymous group is no longer a member of the Everyone
group, so you may need to explicitly give the Anonymous group permissions.
As you said; however, doing so is a security risk because users don't need
to be domain members or even have a username or password to gain access to
that share, so be careful. There are much better alternatives than using
the Anonymous group.

Read up on security best practices. The immediate future is all about
security. In today's world of Erisa and Hipaa compliance, if I attempted to
do on my network what you are attempting to do, no matter how inocuous it
may seem, I could potentially face a large fine from the feds, and probably
lose my job. That's why I like 2003, makes it easier to comply with much
less work.
