2002 / POP 3 Issue

I just upgraded to Windows XP and Office XP. I set up Outlook XP to be
identical to Outlook 2000 using POP 3 to download files. Outlook 2000 has
been working with no problems. With Outlook XP, when sending / receiving
emails it gets to about 7% done and freezes (Need to do the CTRL+ALT+DEL to
kill it). I've tried it multiple times and the same result. I usually
receive around 100 - 200 emails a day (with and without attachments).

Any ideas?

Hello,

With Outlook 2002, when you create a new profile for POP3 account, there is
a button for "Test Account Settings". If click this button, do you get an
error? To get to your profile properties:

- From Outlook 2002, go to Tools | E-mail Account | View or change existing
e-mail account
- Highlight the account and click on Change
- Click on Test Account Settings, do you get an error. If so, most likely
you have not entered all the information that your ISP required to connect
to your POP3 account.

You might want to check with your ISP and see if they require you to use
"Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" or "My outgoing server
(SMTP) requires authenitcation".
