Hi All,
I posted this in the General category but there was no response.

I have an Acess application compiled to an .mde in 2002 and it would not open in Access 2003 and the one compiled in 2003 cannot be opened in 2002. Is this a bug or is this the way it should be? I have a mixture of computers having 2002 or 2003.

Please help as how to resolve this.

thanks
vb

One usually has to run the Access database conversion utility before you can
run a DB in a version other than the one that created it. Look under Tools,
Database Utilities, conversion.

Under some conditions an A2002 mde will open in Access 2003. I'm not sure
why we have problems sometimes.

A 2003 mdb is a 2000 file by default, and should open in A2000. A2002,
A2003. An A2003 mde is NOT a 2000 file, and will NOT (ever) open in A2002.
