Hello,

Today, I upgraded to a new computer with 0ffice 2003 on
it. Old one had office 2000. I copied the mailbox.pst
file from the old computer, renamed it to outlook.pst and
placed it in the directory for my user name. Brought up
outlook, and made some setup changes, including "show
this folder as an e-mail address book" for the contacts
folder.

Most seems to be working ok, except when I create a new
email message and use the "to" button to grab names from
the address book, it shows an error box with the
following message: "The address list could not be
displayed. The contacts folder associated with this
address list could not be opened. It may have been moved
or deleted or you do not have permission." It then
suggests trying outlook help. I click on the "OK" button
and it brings up a "Select Names" box - in the upper
right corner is a pull down list. In that list are two
entries for "contacts" - if I select the first one, no
names appear in the list box, but if I select the second
one, then the names from my contact folder appear and I
can select from them.

Any ideas on how to repair this?? Your help is much
appreciated.

Regards.

try removing the Outlook Address Book (Tools | Email Accounts), restarting
Outlook and adding it back in.

Sue,

Thanks. That seems to have done the trick. Your help is
much appreciated.

Regards.
