2000 Server & Linksys Router

Hi,
Thanks in advance for your help, Have a 2000 SBS Server with a Linksys
cable/dsl router. The internet stops working and the error light goes on the
router. Also if the server is off the internet will not work. Is there
anything that could be wrong.

Is it on Cable or DSL?

Have you talked to the provider?

Updated the Linksys firmware etc?

Light on the Lynksys going out has not much to
do with Win2000 -- probably the line or funky
firmware.

Provider pleads ignorance.
Got new router. One last new firmware to try.

If that doesn't work, make them come test the line.

If you have local DSL at a comparable rate, threaten to
(or actually) switch.

No DSL vs. Cable wars for me -- whatever you can get
that works best in YOUR area for the least money.

I have had both here, and when the economy was better
<grin> we had both at the same time for quite a while.
