Hi all. Win2000 Pro, MS Outlook. When a file arrives
in "inbox" with a ".exe extension, file name is greyed out
ie. it will not open and system closes down. As this file
remains at top of list it is the first one read and of
course as soon as it is accessed the system shuts down.
I suspect it is a security option switch, any ideas

Hi Tom.

I would try posting in an Outlook newsgroup. I am familiar with OE which has an
option to prevent certain attachments from opening, but the part about shutting down
the system is not right. --- Steve

f you are trying to open an attachment and it is shutting the system down I
would be concerned about a possible virus or trojan. If you try to recieve a
built in file like notepad.exe does the system shut down or is it just one
particular executable that does this?
