my cdrom drive. help please!
A download or installing a service pack couldn't disable a floppy or
hard drive, that has to be done through the system BIOS (or from a
faulty controller or cable). Try powering off the system, and unplug
the power cable for 10 seconds, then power back on. Make note of what
shows up in the POST (usually right after the memory check), most will
report the IDE/SCSI devices and show them if they are detected... make
sure your hard disk shows up there. If the hard disk doesn't show up,
check the BIOS to make sure it is enabled, as well as the floppy drive.
If it is enabled and it still doesn't show up, you may have a failing
drive. If it does show up and it still can't find ntloader, you'll have
to do a repair of Windows 2000 from the CD.
