2000 pc and xp laptop access denied

PC has win 2000 and lap has xp pro. The lap top will see
and i can map the drive of the pc but not the reverse i
get a logon screen Incorrect password or unknown username
for: \\computer..... and connect as: and password: but
correct name and password even administrators fail and the
stupid thing says access denied. Any good ideas

What's the name of the share you're trying to make
a connection to?
 
Try disabling simple file sharing from Folder Options. Create identical
user accounts on both machines.
