I simply want to put up an exchange server for long enough to get
certifed on exchange. I want an antivirus package that will protect the
operating system but I do not care about the mail (they will just be
test message).

The kicker is that I want to do it as cheaply as I can. I will be
reverting to Linux/sendmail where I do not have to worry about the
microsoft cops getting me.

Will those cheap "workstation" copies of antivirus do what I need? I
just do not want to have my ISP shut me down due to "sobig" or something
like it.

Regards;

Dave

I run the workstation version of Nod32 on the Win 2K Adv Server with no
problems. www.mod32.com has a full trial version you can try.

You could use a desktop AV program, but you need to make sure it doesn't
scan Exchange Server's virtual drive or message store. If it is not written
to access the exchange server api then it can corrupt the message store.
