It's amazing. Even 6-7 months ago people in this group were discussing
how to wirelessly transmit video (and audio) from PC to TV/HiFi. Now
it can be done with the likes of D-Link DSM320 or Actiontec Wireless
Digital Media Player.
However, as far as I am concerned these boxes only do half the job.
Sure they do the job of getting data to the traditional household
entertainment boxes, but it doesn't send anything back! So to record
anything from my HiFi or video player onto my PC I still have trail a
bunch of wires out of the lounge, up the stairs and into the office
(PCs should live in the lounge - stop making them so ugly!).
Does anyone know if this simple (surely) feature is going to be added
to any of these systems?
Also, does anyone know if you can get full PC control through these
systems. It is great that you can pick and choose video and audio
files to play, but can I use the same interactiveness to pop up the PC
screen on the TV, just for a moment so I can tell it to record
whatever is on BBC1 while I am watching BBC2.
I fear I am STILL living somewhere in the distant future.
