2 Thunderbird questions - 1) save embedded graphics, 2) save as html files.

Outlook 2000 is turning out to have serious limitations for me
regarding my yahoo mail. It doesn't save embedded graphics properly
without a script-on-a-button fix and when html mail comes with
embedded graphics (i.e., a tutorial), it doesn't save the file with
the graphics unless Word is set as the editor. Which is another pain
becuase I don't like Word for this.

I got around the above 2 by installing the O2K script and making a
button for it for the graphics and doing up an AutoIt script to change
the editor to Word for the graphics in html problem.

But all this has just made me determined to find an alternative for my
yahoo mail.

Does Thunderbird allow one to save embedded graphics in their original
format without problem? Does it save html messages with embedded
graphics properly with the images where they're supposed to be?

Thanks.

Does for me on my IMAP Fastmail account.

Excellent!

Can you save embedded graphics in their original format (a HUGE bug in
Outlook - even if animated GIF, you can only save as BMP. A script
will handle this but it's a workaround and tedious and time-consuming
<sigh>)?

Haven't tried that one but TBird is free; no harm in trying.
