Hi,
Where do I find what version of DirectX I have in XP. In Win98 I could ctrl
alt delete & restart windows, how do I restart XP when I have done something
wrong & all I have is a black screen? I am having trouble with some games.
Thanks,
Marsha

Go to C:\Windows\System32\DirectX\Dinput\ and you'll find some text files
there that will give you the version number.

HTH......

For direct x,go to run,type:DXDIAG
For the other,shut-off computer,on starting tap the F8 key,select
safe-mode,or last good known configuration.

Please quote at least some of the post you are replying to: it keeps the
thread intact. I only know what you are talking about because I happened to
reply to the OP myself.

I found the DirectX version using System Tools - System Information -
Tools - DirectX Dianogstic Tools. I still need help with how to restart
WinXP from a black screen? In Win98 I could hit ctrl alt delete & Win98
would restart. How would I dothis in XP.
Thanks,
Marsha

Sorry, I need to clarify & repost.
