I have 2 mentions in Device Manager of my vid card. Both under display
adapters

1 radeon 9800 pro
2radeon 9800 pro secondary

Is this the way it should be?

2 outputs..to "cards"

The radeons have 2 ramdacs... wich thus means you can run 2 screens at
the same time..and have 2 devices like such!
