Hi I have a couple of questions.

Firstly how do I make a user account created in Active Directory a "log on as a service" account.

The application we are installing requires this pre-installation but provides no insight as how to do it.

Secondly we also need to make the same user a local administrator of a single server within the domain, but remain as a domain user for the rest of the domain and servers. I can get as far as domain user but not admin of a single server.

I've hunted and hunted through active directory options but can't find anything that jumps out at me. Am I looking in entirely the wrong place?

Cheers.

The "Log on as a service" right can be granted in the "Domain Controller
Security Policy" panel, under Local Policies / User Rights Assignment.

You can add the user to the local Administrators group, by using
Computer Management connected to that machine, under Groups. When you
go to Add within the Groups area, just browse to the domain and add the
user to that group.
