1. When I click on a "contact" to email someone from a web page, my outlook
EXPRESS opens up. I want OUTLOOK to open instead. Outlook is ALREADY my
default mail program. My husband uses OE. I even deleated all users (as an
experiment) in OE and it STILL OE opened! So I am still looking for the
"how to change it!"

2. When I "send link by email" it sends it as a url and must be saved on the
hard drive rather than sending the http:// ... so it can be clicked on.
Might there be something in the setup or on the preferences page that I
am missing? It only happenes in XP. on my computer with win98 it
does NOT occur that the url is sent and must be downloaded. With win98 it
simply sends the http address so it can be clicked on.

Again -- thanks

Application defaults are set in Internet Options
It may be that when OE is used a msg stating 'Set OE to default....' is
triggered. OKing will do so

Then here's another question (I have LOTS of them!)
I am reading news now through OUTLOOK (not express) on view|goto|news ...
(now hang on here) when I am reading the news, and I close down outlook, I
clicked on OE to verify that NOTHING is checked when/if my husband opens up
OE -- (he doesn't use the account much) and OE *IS* my newsreader -- despite
the fact that I set it up in Outlook. I asked that of one person and they
said it wasn't OE -- but even the icons are OE icons. Am I missing something
here?

Still doesn't answer my 2 concerns! But thanks for the opportunity to
explore other questions!

I can answer part of your question. OL does not contain a newsreader. It
uses Outlook Express. Confusing isn't it? I wish MS had named OE NO instead
(Not Outlook).
