1) I have 3 PP shows, each has a short movie (.wmv). In each case, the first
frame of the clip shows for a second, then there is an instanteous light
flash, then the movie plays normally. When the clip ends, the first frame
shows again for a second or two. (When I play these in Media Player, they
are normal.) Is there a way that I can get rid of the start and end display
of the first frame? I have fiddled with various effect options and Timing
"triggers" but that doesn't help. (I confess I don't understand these
triggers.)

2) Just what does "With Previous" and "After Previous" in custom animation
mean? Previous what -- slide, any object, animated object, whatever? PP
2003 Help doesn't help; it doesn't even mention it.

Your suggestions are really appreciated.

I already- had this kind of abnormal reaction from film. I transcoded the
film with SUPER (free), into...WMV again and it worked! (codecs)
With previus: with what happens before ie tha slide appearing if there is no
animation before

Triggers are a type of animation where one object animates as the result of
you clicking on another. Here's quick info:
http://www.echosvoice.com/triggers.htm

"With previous" animations start animating at the same time as the previous
animation in the list (that is, in the Custom Animation pane). "After
previous" animations start animating after the previous animation in the
list ends.

You can see these visually if you open the Custom Animation pane, then
right-click on an animation in the pane and choose "show advanced timeline."
