password

Hi Troy,

Sorry about the first question, I had changed the subject line at the last
minute.

The first question was how to get the menu bar to appear in windows
explorer. Solved! just hi the ALT key

How do I activate and set password for the account if you can't see it.
Using XP in Administrators Tools under Manage Computer there was a Users and
Groups option, in Vista I can't find these options and under User accounts
in the Control Panel you are limited to what you can change. In Vista there
in no option to change the user name to Administrator.

Under XP to log in as Administrator I think you press Crtl-Alt-Del at the
login prompt.

Start | type lusrmgr.msc. It will appear at the top of the Start window,
click on it (if Admin level account) or right click, Run as Administrator
from standard account. All accounts are accessible in this console.
Activate the Administrator account or rename it as you want.

You can also get to this by Start | Computer Management

Hi Rock,

When I run the snapin you provided below, I get a message saying "This
snapin may not be used in this version of Windows".

I am running Windows Vista Premium. I guess this is why "Users and Groups"
doesn't appear in Computer Management.

Sooo, if I can't activate the admin account how do I log in as Administrator
in Windows Vista Premium?????

Good question. I didn't realize it wasn't in VHP. Maybe someone else with
info on this will pipe up. What if you boot into safe mode? Does it
appear? Might be like XP Home where it is only accessible in Safe Mode.
