Having a new system, but in the meantime data is being transferred to Excel.
Can two people have the same spreadsheet open and also update it at the same
time.?

If yes, how do you do this?

Thanks

Hi Janet
you may use the 'Share' functionality. Have a look a t 'Tools - Share'
or at the Excel helpfile for this topic

We've done workbook sharing and personally I think it's a little shaky.
Depending on the data you're dealing with, it's too easy for on
person to update a number not knowing that (or "if") the other perso
has already done so. It's very easy to mess things up. I much prefe
not using share. You can still let everyone access the file a
read-only but only one can actually write to it at any given time

Much better for the peace of mind factor
