2 Partions on Extern HD

Hi Group,

I have an external 2,5" hooked up with USB 2.0 on my laptop. I managed to
format both partitions( in this case G and H) without a problem.

The question is; how do I get rid of the one partition so that I just have
one partition left over? I just want to use the External HD for Data and I
do not require two partitions for that.

I am assuming that I just have to stick in the XP CD into my drive on the
laptop and then delete the drive (in this case G or H). The process will
then delete the one partition and I can then do a restart and it shouldn't
have had any effect on my regular drives on my laptop.
I just want to make sure before I throw the CD in and then wind up losing
everything on my laptop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

GL

I believe that you can delete partitions from within XP, using the disk
management tools. This will not work on the primary parition containing XP
itself, but it should work on any other partition, internal or external.
You may get some messagage about about dismounting the parition. If so,
just type "Y" and return.
