Hi group,

I have two OS's on 2 different drives. At the being of running up my
computer, I get the choice of one or the other to run up. However I am only
using the one at all times. How do I get rid of this screen so that the
computer starts up on default on the OS (XP Pro) that I want to use.

Thanks

On "My Computer", right mouse click to get Properties. Pick Tab:
Advanced, Startup and Recovery Section, press button:settings. In
System Startup section, pick the default OS there.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

If you don't want to lose the option of occasionally booting to the 2nd. OS,
go to -

Rt. click My Computer/Properties/Advanced tab/Start up & recovery
tab/settings/Edit

That's your boot.ini file; change Timeout to 2, close & save.

That will cut down the bootup screen display to only 2 secs & give you
enough time to change OSs if you need to.

right mouse button on my computer/advanced
startup and recovery/settings Geddy.

Click on Edit under system startup. The boot.ini
is there.

This is the default boot.ini. What's extra delete it
save and reboot. That should fix it. Are both OS's
XP?

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Pro
Edition" /fastdetect
