Hello.
I have installed window 2000 on my systme. i have 2 NIC in same system. one
is connected ot linksys routher to connect to interenet , the othere one is
connected to hub , which is not connected to linksys and interenet.
Now , how can i make use of both NIC? i can't brows the net .. can anyone
help me to configure both nic proerly please..?
Thanks

try setting your gateway address for hub nic to the
address of the linksys nic. if you are running W2K server
you could setup Routing and Remote Access under
Administrative Tools. Only the Routing part is required

Make sure that each nic is on a different subnet. For
instance, by default the linksys internal network is
192.168.1.0 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. Set the IP
for the nic connected to your hub as something like
192.168.2.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 and DO NOT put
a default gateway address in the for this nic. You should
only have one card that has a default gateway assigned to
it. Also note the name of the nic connected to your
linksys in My Network Places and then right click on My
Network Places and click properties. After clicking
properties you need to click Advanced along the top of the
window and then click Advanced settings. Once this window
comes up you need to look in the Connections field and
make sure that the nic that is connected to you Linksys is
listed first. If it is not then you need to highlight it
and then keep clicking the up arrow to the right of the
field until it is listed first. Hope this helps.
