Have you tried updating the client's version of the RDP
client?

Ok...two solutions here. First of all, you should try and
avoid loading any type of printer driver onto your system,
since those drivers can readily crash your system or at
least reduce it's stability. If you absolutely need to
install a printer driver onto your system, a thorough test
is a very good idea. Second, you need to edit the
ntprint.inf file or the printupg.inf file in order to get
those printers to map correctly. Take a look at the
ntprint.inf file for more details.
I think the remote desktop application with Windows XP is
build 2600, whereas the one that you can download from the
Microsoft site is higher than that. And yes, I think it
was updated in the latest XP service pack. You should
look into upgrading to that SP if you haven't already.

Hi,
I am having two very different issues with TS that I am
interested on feedback on.
Issue #1: When a user logs in and starts up their
software program (Goldmine) itworks for 5-10 minutes then
issues the following error. "MSTSC.exe has Generated
errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to
restart the program. An error log has been created."
My understanding is that MSTSC.EXE is the executable for
the Remote Desktop Connection. Restarting the workstation
seems to alleviate this issue until they try to get into
the software package a second time....and the error
happens again.

Issue #2: i am continually getting error messages in the
event log indicating that printers can't be installed
because the correct print drivers are not installed.
Drivers in question at HP990C and Compaq ij1200. In both
cases the Windows 2000 driver is installed on the TS
Server. However, the clients are XP Pro clients....should
the XP drvier be installed...if it is different?

Question: I know that XP Pro ships with Remote Desktop.
Did Remote Desktop get updated with any service packs?
What is the best way to be sure that an XP Pro machine
has the most up to date Remote Desktop software?
Thank You!
