I don't know if i am asking this question in the right group, if not could
someone redirect me to the correct group please.

My co is completely dependant on internet access 24/7, to this end they have
asked me to set up the network/server to recieve broadband from 2 seperate
suppliers; one is BT ADSL and the other is a Wireless based DSL provider.
Now i understand that you could install 2 nics on the server and set up a
gateway on each but this would use the first one as defualt gateway but not
the second unless the first one went down which leads on to that if they are
paying for 2 different ISPs they want to use the bandwidth from them both.
If any one give any possible solutions they would be appreciated.

The only other idea i could think of would be to have 2 servers and 2
subnets with each using one of the broadband types and maybe connecting the
servers together on their own little subnet and adding a route with a higher
metric in case one of the links went down.

Many thanks,

Iain

One solution in to put up 2 ISA Servers, and then connect each one to it's
own ISP for outgoing/incoming internet access. On the front end of ISA you
can do a Round Robin DNS to balance the load between the 2 ISA Servers. You
could also put them in an Array, or even us Network Load Balancing as a way
to spread the load.

You really have plenty of choices if you go the ISA route. Just using
Default Gateways wouldn't provide you the ability for you to use both lines
very well. Just some ideas. :)

Thanks for that, that is one solution do you know if there are any others, i
could do with a few options.

You could follow the same concept with a hardware solution, but it's still
the same idea. Either way you have to send the traffic outside the W2K
Servers to have something else make the choice to where to send the traffic.
