when i do an IPconfig on a client computer it gives me the
address of the client, but when I do a nslookup for the
same computer it gives me a different IPaddress. Also I
can't log on to the domain because it gives me
an "insuffient systems resources". How can I correct this
ipaddress problem?

Then either there is a DNS misconfiguration -- wrong A record
OR the client is using the WRONG address.

The client must use an address not be used by other machines
(even if those machines are sometimes offline if the address is
in DNS.)

IF you are using DHCP, then the DHCP server must not give
out addresses in use by other machines or registered permanently
in DNS.

What "it" gives you this message? What is the OS of the machine?
Version/Service pack status?

Domain member (machine)?

Can you ping? (If you logon locally etc.) Does ping fail just by
name or also by IP number?

standard answers if you haven't tried them:
#1 ipconfig/release then reboot.
#2 remove the adapter from the device manager, reboot, then reinstall

I am using service pack 4 for windows 2000 and I can ping
outside the domain as well as inside the ipaddress and
name.

You seem to have ignored my advice about incorrect DNS,
DHCP, or client configuration....
