hi,
i have ntl broadband 150k. i am using a usb connection to my main computer
at home. i have recently bought a new laptop. it has a network card, and i
would like to connect to the internet with it. is it possible to use the
main computer and laptop at the same time? e.g. i will leave the usb
connection, and make a new network card connection to my laptop. will this
work, as the speed would be shared between the laptop and computer? I would
like to play unreal tournament, so i would need 2 connections on
simultaneously.

any help/advice?

thanx

Go to Start/Help and type in Internet Connection Sharing. All your questions

thanx for all the help. how much will a router cost? i think the one on the
ntl website is £140, and it is wireless! also do both computers have to have
a network card? cos my home computer only has usb's

how much will a router cost?

Depends on the router. Here in the US, once can buy a D-Link router for
about $40 after rebates.

Wireless routers are handy. I like mine.

You'll need some kind of connection. I've seen a wireless USB connector
that's only about an inch long. Just plug your USB cable into it. The
other USB port has a small receiver plugged into it. You can also get
wireless netword cards for about $40-50 in the states (I have no idea what
they cost in the UK) or wired cards for $10.
