go start/run - msconfig/
go boot.ini tab/
go - click on - check all boot paths/
you will then be prompted for deleting any duplicates -
and reply 'yes' to remove them/
note
the orig win xp useable 'copy' is in 1st partition
and take it fr there

Edit your boot.ini file so you don't have two possible OSes listed when you
boot. Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup & Recovery
(Settings) >

Now there are two ways to go about it: you can click EDIT to manually remove
the references to the second installation, or you can change the "Time to
display list of Operating Systems" to 0 seconds, making sure that the
current installation is listed as the default. Either method will get rid of
the OS choice screen at bootup.
@ symbol is on my number 2:

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages
Details > Select the defualt InputLanguage to English (United Kingdom).
You may need to add this to the Installed services section.
