Hi,
In my outlook 2000, I managed to create a contact folder twice with the
same name (I don't know how, but I did). Now both folders appear when I
click on the "To" button in a new e-mail. One of them contains my contacts
and the other is empty. I want to delete the empty one. The problem is that
one one of those 2 folders appear under contacts and it's the one that
contains my contacts (not the empty one). How can I delete the empty one?

Thanks

Very odd. I'd love to know how you did that.
You should post your mail support mode before we try anything. Line 2 of
Help | About, if you don't know.

Hello, I've had the same problem with two different
laptops now. When I upgrade from an old computer to a
new one, I move over the (BIG) outlook.pst file and I
seem to get two contact lists just as he describes below
(one is empty just like his). I've lived with that on my
old computer but now I'm upgrading to a new one and the
same thing happened. I tried to search for WAB files to
delete one but I can't find any. How do I have just one
contact list? Is there a better way that copying
the .PST file to migrate to a new machine?

Thanks,
Ted

Just delete the duplicate entries here:
Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or address
books > Outlook Address Book > Change. >

Hmm, okay, I'm using Outlook 2002 (both machines). Will
the procedure allow me to delete all those "Contact"
entries in Address Book? I now have 3 of them. Only one
has contacts. I'll re-import the PST from the old
machine but I'm hoping to have a clean slate and no
nested contact lists.

Thanks for the help,
Ted

Different problem.
Indeed, you should never just overwrite over a PST file. You should
expressly configure Outlook to use your previous PST. Method depends on
Outlook version, which you did not post.
