does anyone know if I can configure two lans using the
same pcmcia?
My problem is that at universtity I have an ip address,
dns and wins servers, whilst at home I use dynamic ip, but
the ethernet card I use to connect is the same. Is there a
way in which I can create 2 lans, one to enable at
univerity, and the other to enable at home, without having
to change the ips all the time?
Thanks for any help,
Angelo

Follow Marinas link.

While you can configure two IP addresses in different Nets, you cannot
configure both DHCP and a manual IP address at the same time.

WinXP+ can have an "Alternate" configuration so that when DHCP fails,
the manual address is used instead (and instead of APIPA.)

The other choice is a netsh.exe script to make the switch -- works even on
Win2000 but is tedious to learn to do the first time.

Trick with NetSh is to list out the manually entered settings for each
network,
then cut and paste what you need for the two batch files.
