Can I run 2 bootable hard drives in one computer.I have
Xp on both drives already, same copy.Either one works, but
I have to plug the one in and unplug the other. When I
plug both in as a master,Cannot find op system comes
up.Whould like to choose at start-up if possible. The only
thing I can figure if I cant do something is to cut the
power in and wire in a switch,up power top drive, down
powers lower drive.(Whould like to stay away from
drilling holes). If I switch the slave drive as
slave,Bootable, will it still run with the other
drive,causing problems.

You can not have two bootable XP running in A Dual Boot
arrangement you are fine with another OS. With different
OS you can chose which one to boot to but as you have
already found out you need to separate the two XP's as to
having only one powered on at a time.

On many motherboards you can bring up a boot menu by hitting 'esc' while the
system is booting. This will allow you to choose which drive to boot from.

If you have both drives on the same IDE cable, do not set them both as
master. Set one as master and one as slave (or both to cable select if you
have relatively new equipment).

Cable select just assigns master and slave based on where the drives are on
the cable. Shouldn't require any additional config.
