2.8 or 3.0

I have to buy a new computer with a choice of P4 2.8Ghz or P4 3.0Ghz the
price difference is AUD$400 which one should I go with I may play games like
Rise of nations age of mythology FS2004 and run multiple office programs at
once as well as listening to music

With that big a price difference I'd go for the 2.8Ghz. It'll do what you
want easilly and you can always upgrade to a faster CPU next year when a P4
3Ghz will probably be only $200 or less.

If you have extra money to spend, rather than getting the faster CPU, spend
it on RAM (You'll be wanting at least 512Mb) or a faster/bigger HDD or
better graphics card. All far better investments. A P4 3Ghz is only about
5-7% faster than a 2.8Ghz at the most.

it's very unlikely that you could even tell the difference betweent the two
machines...so why waste the money...
you;d might want to spend the extra money on ram or a video card
