ive tried doing the driver devlopement kit from microsoft aswell but havntBob Lucas said:This newsgroup deals with Windows XP - not Windows 2000.
However, there are important differences between these operating
systems, which affect the connection of external devices via a USB port.
Win XP has many built-in drivers. For Win 2000, you will probably need
to install specific drivers for the device.
Please correct me if I am wrong. However, I presume you have a camera -
and when you tried to connect it to your computer, you received the
"detected unknown device" error message.
If so, the first step is to identify the precise make and model of the
camera. Then, you will need to obtain and install the correct drivers.
The manufacturer may be able to help (always assuming that the
manufacturer can provide drivers for the Win 2000 operating system).
Without suitable drivers, Win 2000 will not recognise the device - and
it won't work.
thanks ive came to the same conclusion
