To whom it may concern:
I am posting this here, so hopefully the MS internal test team can test the
2.0 framework on MCE pcs.
After many pains with my MCE machine (ehrex.exe exceptions, guide error
problems, no video displaying) I uninstalled the Framework 2.0 Beta that is
part of the latest Yukon Beta and the problems went away.
I realized this was the problem when the CLR debugger kept opening on the
ehrec.exe exception.
I thought the problem might be Yukon, and was about to post in that thread,
becasue the errors started after it was installed, however, after
uninstalling Yukon, the problems remained. It was then that I realized that
the Yukon uninstaller hadn't removed the Framkework 2.0 beta that installed
along with it. As I said, once the framework was rolled back to 1.1, the
problems ceaced.
For grins (and to test the theory), I reinstalled all of Yukon (including
the 2.0 Framework, required) and the problems reappeared immediately. I then
removed the Framework (leaving Yukon intact) and, as I had figured, the
problems were again resolved.
If I can get ahold of a later version of the 2.0 beta famework, I will
install that version and post any finding here.
If anyone needs more information that would assist in the debugging of this
problem, let me know, I am happy to provide any information I can.
