I could believe it.
Like a prescott 1mb cpu on 1gb is better (responsive) than my 512 cache 2.26
on same ram.
I figured it out by trial and error. I am guessing *mb L2 cach on large ghz
cpu would be content with it, not too much bog.
Would like to know myself.

On an Athlon64 S939, your main worry is having to use Command
Rate 2T with any four stick configuration. As long as you use
a two stick configuration (2x512MB or 2x1GB), there "ain't no
boggin". That leaves degree of overclock as the deciding issue,
and you can probably find higher clocking 512MB than 1GB sticks.

As a bonus prize, there is also this article on cache size on
Athlon64. This will show you what cache is good for on an
Athlon64, when you have to choose between spending more on
a 1MB L2 cache processor, versus one with 512KB L2. It seems
Doom3 likes cache, but MP3 encoding could care less.
