Hi, I bought a set of 16x DVD-Rs, but they worked at the highest speed of
12x. Do you think the manufacturer has tricked the customers and the
products have bad quality? Do I need to claim on it?

If you have been able to burn at 16X in the past, but not with the DVD-Rs
you just purchased, yes they could be incorrectly marked or inferior. If
it's a name brand then most likely not a trick, if it's an off brand sold at
an very low price then buyer beware.

It is TDK brand!
So a name brand can easily trick customers. Why don't they announce that the
speed is only 12x?

In addition, I bought it on Newegg.com!

Wait, wait, wait.

First off, have you cleaned the laser lens in your
drive lately? Could be the DRIVE is at fault, NOT
the blank media.

Second, the time difference between burning at
12x vs. 16x is not significant.

Find another cause to be outraged about.

The DRIVE is at fault.
Second, I just burned a backup files of 2.7G for about 15mins...
