£ sign displayed as J in IE6

Hi ladies & Gents, lately IE6 has been displaying the £
sign as J in IE6 - anyone any ideas how to correct this?

What do you get if you enter this in the Address bar
on top of About:Blank?

javascript:String.fromCharCode(163);

Check your Encoding. Make sure that you have Auto-Select checked
(Alt-V,d). I can't reproduce your symptom but I can make that character
change by unchecking that option and forcing an incorrect encoding.
