Thinking of buying a new laptop in the black Friday deals. But do I need 16 or 32GB of ram?
Not bothered with ssd/m2 storage but how much ram do you need?

It's probably less expensive to have it installed at purchase than to increase RAM later.

... but how much ram do you need?
you only 'need' 8GB, however 16GB is considered by many to be the sweet spot ... if budget permits, by all means get the 32GB, it will add to bragging rights.

I would 'save' the money and get an SSD!

:)

Meanwhile, I'm over here with 1.5 GB RAM and Windows XP Professional. Lol
Sorry I meant 512gb ssd/m2 with 16gb ram
As the 32gb has 1tb ssd/m2
So you pay more for more ram & storage
If you're comfortable paying a lot more, go for 32 GB. You'll definitely notice a huge difference. 👍

Outcome is my current home PC is fine.
My Samsung tablet now has a Bluetooth keyboard and is good for on the move.

With Co pilot coming soon might look in late 2025 at a new laptop once Microsoft decide about Win12 and Co pilot specs

So finally going for 16gb ram & 512gb ssd.
i5 cpu and 14" screen for mobility. My old PC parts, hdd, ssd & m2 will go in external caddys
