when I try to install a program on my Vaio with windows
xp I get an error message of missing 16 bit system module
and I am asked to re-install WOWEXEC.EXE

I may have deleted it by mistake. Could anyone advise me
how to re-install that please. Many thanks.

Hi,

You can reinstall WOWEXE.EXE from the Windows XP CD-ROM. The instructions
I will give you here are specific to the retail Microsoft XP CD; you may
need to tailor this approach to use a CD supplied by Sony. Here is the
command to get the file from the XP CD and copy it to your hard drive:

expand d:\i386\wowexec.ex_ c:\%systemroot%\system32\wowexec.exe

The above command assumes your XP CD-ROM is in drive D: and your hard drive
where Windows is installed in drive C:.
