1394 Port?

Hello, I've recently purchased a Dell computer and soft Dazzle software to
transfer video from my mini DV camcorder to the computer. I am having
trouble doing this and the message I keep getting is to make sure it is
plugged into the 1394 Port. I'm just not sure where that port is. I've tried
all the USB ports (since the package says USB compatible) but I don't think
I've found the right port. How do you know which port is the 1394 port?

The 1394 Port is NOT a USB port.

There is 2 kinds of 1394: small (4 pins) and normal (6 pins).
It can be either on the front or on the back of your PC.

look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FireWire to see what the connector
looks like.

And to add to that: I am sure your camera is USB compatible but you still
are far better off using the firewire (IEEE) connection.
The camera certainly has a IEEE port and $20 later your computer could too
if it doesn't now.
