I want to have following network setup for my project
Pls tell me this is a valid one.
If not, tell what should I do to get it work?

Computer A and B has, one Ethernet card and 1394 B card

Computer A and B connected through 1394b Cable.

Computer C and D has one Ethernet card.

Computer C is connected to A through Cross cable .

Computer D is connected to D through Cross cable.

Computer A and B are in same network.
Computer C and D are in same network.

Now I cannot ping d from C.

What should I do for that?

If all four computers have Ethernet ports why not simply buy an inexpensive
switch and connect the computers that way?

Thanks for your kind reply.
We cannot do that way. In real time, Computer A will have more than one
ethernet port it means computer A will have one switch and Computer B
will have another switch. So Computer C and D will connect to switch of
Computer A and B respectively. This is my first problem.

2.Split network is possible?

I'm sorry, perhaps I'm not understanding the goal of your configuration. In
a normal network each PC has one network card in it, and that card connects
to a switch or hub or other networking device. This is all that is required
to network any number of PCs from a hardware point of view. So, if all you
want to do is get all four computers talking to each other on a network,
that's almost literally all you'd need to do aside from some fine-tuning
once they're all connected.

Is there some reason you're looking to make things more complicated than
that?
