The above is what is required by my PC motherboard. But I
have some PC100 RAM but I have been told it is 256 bit. I
dont know what this means or if it will work.
Thanks for any info,
Junior
Understanding what it means will involve some research on
your part. It's a long and complicated story. Search Google.
Each chipset has its own set of memory limitations, each
memory dimm can use one of several different capacities of
individual chips, and can organize these chips into different
numbers of memory banks, and to make matters even more
complex, most motherboard manuals are not updated when
new memory technologies are released -- so in many cases
the manual is not an accurate reference when it comes to
knowing what will or won't actually work.
The quickest way to find out is to plug your memory in and
see if the system recognizes it properly.
