Hi Group,

does anyone recognize the above number? Everytime I run my computer down,
run it back up again and want to send a mail; the incoming mail address
(Pop3) on all of my accounts has magically changed itself to 127.0.0.1 How
does this happen? And better yet, why? Could someone please tell me how to
get rid of this annoying problem so that I don't have to correct all of my
pop addresses everytime I want to send a mail.

Thanks

Geddy Lee

That is LocalHost and your anti-virus software is probably grabbing
your email account settings and substituting LocalHost so it can
intercept messages to do inline email scanning. More modern versions
of AV software don't do that any more, too many problems. Are you
having problems sending emails? If so update to a newer version of
your AV software or disable the inline email scanning and Outlook
integration.

That is actually your local host address and is used in some Antivirus
programs and sometimes works and other times does not.

If you have the free AVG 6 or paid AVG 7, it will change the address's to
this and in some versions of McAfee (Internet Security Suite 2004 with Virus
scan) will change this also.
