I have a total of 12,035 pages in my system registry when I exported and
saved it as a .rtf file. Good thing I didn't want to print it out. Is this
extremely huge or is it an average size? I have lots in the registry that I
need to clean out, but have been putting it off. Just a little worried about
messing things up. Has anyone else let their registry accumulate so much?

Hi Donna J,

I wouldn't worry too much, my registry is around 8 MB. It is not worth
the effort to clean the registry and save a few KB, given the
capacities of today's computers.

On the other hand, if you mess too much with the registry, you might
get an unstable system.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

Good luck

Roger,
Thanks for the reply. Was hoping someone would give me a little advice on
this. Not like the 1st reply I got "start cleanin'...NOW........." Now that
was real helpful.

Have a nice weekend.

A good program to use to clean the registry is System Mechanic or Norton
System Works...both work real well and I've never had a problem.

I have Norton's Antivirus for my WinXP and have Norton Utilities for my
Win95. I always been pleased with their programs. I will check out System
Works. There are so many leftover entries in the registry. I just always
thought that if you follow the uninstall for each program, it would get rid
of all that excess stuff, not true.
Thanks,
Donna J
