Hi,

I need to upgrade my PSU, and I would like to know which PSU with 1000+W
will give me the best bang for the buck

BTW I would appreciate if the suggestion are available at either Newegg.ca
or TigreDirect.ca

Why not start here, use the Advanced Search, sort them by Lowest Price, and
then scan with your eye, for the ones with good ratings ?

I'd recommend PC Power, except their quality dropped a bit after OCZ took over.
On the one hand, some of the prices came down, when OCZ took over, but there
were also more reports of problems. One of the nice features, is a single
output, which means there can be better power sharing when compared to a
design that had completely isolated, multiple 12V outputs.

Reviews for power supplies, are not always illuminating. The average
reviewer knows when a supply "goes BOOM" or is DOA, and that is what
you're looking for. But electrical quality assessments are more difficult.

You can use a site like JonnyGuru, as they have reviews done with a power
supply tester. And pictures of the internal construction of some of the
power supplies, will give you some idea as to what you're getting.
