Hi,
Using my Sony 'Digital Handycam' Digital 8 camera and connecting it to
Windows XP/Windows Movie Maker, the 130 minute (LP mode) tape captures OK to
my hard drive but the file is sliced into over 100 video clips instead of
just one. The camera recorded from start to finish on a tripod for the full
length of the tape without stopping. Why are so many clips created during
capture to my computer? Is it a setting on the camera that needs to be
corrected to make the file just one clip as per it was recorded? Would the
auto focus shifting of the lens be creating so many clips each time it
adjusts? If so, how can I make it stop doing this so I get just one file to
drag to the storyboard?
FYI: The tape I used had previously recorded data. It was not a virgin tape.
Could the time codes from the old files still be on the tape and be affecting
the new recording and not erasing them? If so, how can they be erased from
the tape when the new data is recorded over them?
Thanks!
