Hi All,

it sounds that I have seem this before but not sure if I have ever seem the
solutiom.
Even opening this newsgroup site to post my problem it is performing with
the same problem. IE takes 100% CPU usage and it takes up to 10 sec to
display the page.
Back to the original problem, I just have a page with tables and rolls. no
images or nothing. It can take up to 1 minute depending on a computer to load.
Generaly they are faster pcs and have reseable memory. All behave the same.
I have just one pc that is lower on specs and that one works fine 3sec and
the page loads.
That makes me think then the problem is software related(IE??)

Any help?

First eliminate any spyware.
What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

See
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Hi Frank.
thak you for your reply but I don't think that spyware is causing this
problem.
I have just flat the computer and installed W2k SP3 IE5 on a Dell Intel
400Mhz 256RAM. IE takes 100% cpu
added IE6 SP1 and SP4 the same behaviour.

On a non-brand AMD 132Mhz and 256RAM goes likea bullet.

Where I am getting it wrong?
Thank you again.

I too am having a similar problem.

I have installed Giant and cleaned my system. Before that I had Spybot scan
my system and Ad-Adware thoroughly do my system.

The problem I have is that the CPU goes to 100% when pressing the Back
button when returning onto a long page.

Are there special settings in IE perhaps which will make these operations
faster?
