1 minute Sound recording

is there a way to keep recording for a 1 hour session?
(other than the every minute click again deal). And what
happend to the monitor the sound recorder had in Win 98

You can record via the line-in jack without time limits using the following free
programs:

Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
CDex http://www.cdex.n3.net/
RealOne Player can do it as well, but I'm not sure if this is only in the $20
"Plus" version.
