1 hour w/Microsoft STILL NO ANSWER

Yes I paid 28.00 to have them NOT BE able to fix this problem

When opening a new web and being prompted for the user and
password I get the standard window and put in user/pass and
check the box that is supposed to add the user/pass to a list to
be remembered later. --It DOES NOT remember user/pass.

I get into the web OK but I really would like it to remember
the user/passes like all the other computers I have.

Note: Browser does remember user/pass for Pay Pal or ebay etc.

Note: Doesn't work for Sub-webs either that are password protected.

I get that too. Think of it as a safety feature, so no one who steals your
computer could deface your web site as well.

Only fix I have found is a reinstallation of the operating system. (not that
i'd recomend that)
 
Do you publish via FP DIrectly using the Extensions or do you publish via FTP? Or are you opening
the Live web directly?

I use FP 2002 and it remembers my passwords when I publish to my FP supported website or when I open
it directly. I still get the box, but the password is already filled in.
 
To not have to enter your login/password when opening a web in FP, you need
to double click the web URL in the File Menu | Open Web dialog.

Note: This doesn't work for every web site. I have about 50 webs in my Open
Web dialog and this work for all, but 2 or 3 of them.
