My computer gives me an error message
when i try to save in corel 11

It say there is not enough temp memory space

I talked to corel techs and they say they have had
that call from other people and the common threadwith callers
is: xp and 1 gig ram (me included)

Any solutions for me?

1gb ram....or clear your temp folder before
launching corel...or increase temp folder size.

The temp memory space does not refer to RAM, This refers to the temp.
folder(s) on your hard. It also could suggest that Windows Virtual Memory
file may not hae enough hard drive space to store info. Clean up the temp.
folders, clear out Internet Temp. folders (cache) and empty the Recycle Bin.
Un-install any program that do not use anymore. Backup important files and
defragment the hard drive(s). Then, check to see the amount of free disk
space is left.

If the above does not help, it may be time to buy a larger hard drive.

Nothing would surprise me with Corel products.

It took me weeks to solve a problem with Corel 9 and Windows XP - the
service pack updates refused to install.

The solution was to set the date back to 1999 and the time zone to
Perth Australia then install both service packs without rebooting.

Try reducing the amount of RAM to 512 mb and see if the problem goes
away. If you are not able to easily remove a RAM module or modules
in order to do this then you can do it by using Start - Run -
MSCONFIG.

Go to the BOOT.INI tab and click on the Advanced Options button.
Click on the checkbox for the /MAXMEM= line to select and enter 512 in
the value box on that line. Reboot the computer to put the memory
reduction into effect and see if there is any difference with Corel's
behaviour.

Do not make any other changes on the computer when you are testing
this.

If Corel is now able to save files okay then you have confirmed that
Corel has a problem with large amounts of RAM in XP. However how to
remedy this is another matter. I would suggest that you repeat the
process a couple of times by removing the /MAXMEM settings, rebooting
to see if the problem comes back. If it does then put them back in
again, reboot, and see if Corel works properly at 512 mb.

Once you have satisfied yourself that this setting does solve the
problem then you need to get back to Corel support with your findings
and see what further advice they might have.

Good luck

"The reason computer chips are so small is computers don't eat much."

It could also be a problem with pagefile size or management,
Corel might be looking for a size in swap (page file)
memory. Also, there may be a temp buffer setting for Corel,
don't know, have not used it.
