ok i am having a few problems
1/ the download manager will not work as i keep getting an error saying it
cant handle the download
2/ when i try to download the other way i can only get 1.99 gb of the file
and the download stops
any help please

Nick--

1) Check your space --you've given no detail of what it is and where it is
2) If you'r doing a dual boot you're going to need about 350MB on the XP
boot
3) The error didn't say "akami can't handle Nick's dl--it said something
else--maybe it helps and as in many cases maybe it's a worthless MSFT error
message
4) Check event viewer eventvwr.msc in run box>click on application>and see
if you have some any useful specific error information.
5) Try the IE download.

I've never had to touch a firewall to download--and by firewall which one?
I'm running the Win One Care software firewall on XP downloading for a dual
boot and a NAT firewall in the Linksys router. I've never needed to touch a
firewall to download for any build since the first ones released over a year
ago.

nick, check with your ISP as to whether they have a limit on the file size
that they allow you to download. I have heard of some ISPs who have a
single file limit of 2GB.

i am on aol broadband i thought it was unlimeted i will try to find out max
single file size as far as the download manager is concerned it is not a
problem just thought it may have been a bug i am useing the ie download now
also have plenty of disc space around 130gb left i want to download put on a
disc and us a spare hard drive to run it on
thanks for the help guys

I am unable to download vista using download manager with zonealarm or
windows firewall.

It's something with this computer, on another computer I am able to download
using the Akamai Download Manager.

you know that you can still use IE with AOL, right? just connect to your
AOL, minimize it and open an IE window. then, try using the IE download
instead of the download manager.
